About the Photographer
My father inspired my love for photography when I was a teenager and he gave me a point-and-shoot camera for my birthday. I was so thrilled that I became the family photographer and have taken many pictures ever since. With the advent of digital photography, I was able to save my closets from being overtaken by albums, negatives and prints of all my photos.
I moved to California in my early 20’s to finish my studies. I studied an array of subjects like Economics, Finance, Art, Architecture, Marketing, Graphic Design and Photography. Photography and Design were my favorite subjects and as a result of my diverse education, I began to travel and photograph places like Brazil, Indonesia, Africa and Europe, blending my photography and design skills to capture my life’s journey.
After several years working in the corporate world, God blessed our family with a beautiful baby. My quest to capture all of her unique faces and preserve our special moments turned me from a casual nature photographer into a professional, non-traditional portrait photographer for babies, children and families. Sereia Photography was born out of my interest in capturing each magic moment with my daughter.
Sereia, or “mermaid” in Portuguese, is a mystical, fun and playful inhabitant of the sea. Growing up near the Ocean, I nurtured a love for the ocean and ocean creatures. As I grew and continued to visit the ocean with my family, I always kept a special place in my heart for the Sereias, the magical creatures of fantasy that allowed me to stretch my imagination and keep my whimsical spirit of freedom and excitement, even as I became an adult. It’s that childhood spirit of magic that gave birth to my work as a photographer, and the name for Sereia Photography.
About her work
Daniela Nascimento is an International Photographer based in South East Florida who specializes in portrait, newborn, kids, family, pregnancy, couples, beauty, fashion, commercial and boudoir photography. Daniela has accepted photography commissions throughout Southern California, Miami and South America. She is available for travel worldwide. Her style is non-traditional because she believes that the best pictures are the ones captured by unexpected moments in which we can glimpse the natural art and mystery of childhood. Those moments appear and disappear just as swiftly as a Sereia in the sea.
Expectant mothers, newborns, children, teens, beauty queens and whole families in South Florida inspire her to create beautiful photographs and portraits. Her sessions are on-location, at the client’s home, her studio or the setting of the client’s choice, where she uses natural and/or studio lighting to create a relaxed atmosphere while she adds her artistic flair and creativity to her client’s portraits. She makes sure the shooting experience is enjoyable for kids and adults. Better yet, at the end of the session her clients will walk away with a handful of beautiful photographs.
