This recent SDSU grad photo session took place ahead of a June commencement, allowing time to document this chapter before the excitement of graduation day. A Personal Connection to SDSU
As an SDSU alum, returning to campus for graduation photo sessions feels especially meaningful. Walking through familiar spaces brings back memories of my own college years and adds a deeper layer of connection to the experience. There’s something powerful about photographing this milestone in a place that represents so much growth, hard work, and personal transformation.
Having once stood in the same position, I understand how significant this moment is—and how important it is to capture it thoughtfully and with care.
Starting the Session at Hepner Hall
We began the session at Hepner Hall, one of SDSU’s most recognizable and photographed landmarks. Its Spanish Revival architecture, arches, and columns provide a classic backdrop that works beautifully for graduation photos. The surrounding greenery and open space create a clean, elegant look that feels timeless and celebratory.
Hepner Hall is often a favorite starting point for SDSU graduation photo sessions, as it immediately anchors the images to campus while conveying a strong sense of pride and accomplishment. From there, we moved through nearby areas to add variety while keeping the overall look cohesive and intentional.
